Tests of 3 samples of the main type ores containing the species of Cu-Мо ores and one mixed sample from the unique Kalmakyr mine performed in the laboratories SGS VOSTOK LIVMITED (Chita, Russia) and SGS MIN-ERALS SERVICES (Ontario, Canada) considering the Bond index allowed to define the rated flow of useful power: 9.7-11.5 kW-h/t – for spherical grinding and 9,7- 11,5 kWh/t – for semi-self-grinding process. Based on the results of industrial tests of the bulk sample of these samples mixture (Angrensk mill, Uzbekistan) the rated flow of useful power were: 11 kW-h/t and 6,3 kW-h/t correspondingly. The test results were used to select the large-scale equipment (МПСИ, МШЦ) for ore preparation department reconstruction МОФ.

Development of technological regulation of ore preparation finishing for the project «Reconstruction of crushing and grinding departments of the copper dressing plant»

From copper-zinc ore containing secondary copper minerals – 35,0% containing copper - 0,95% , zinc – 1,30%, copper concentrate was obtained with the copper weight ratio – 16,0%, recovery – 80,0% and zinc concentrate containing zinc 50,0%, zinc – 30,0%.

Development of copper-zinc ore dressing technology of the West-Lake mine

Research was performed on 5 high-sulfur ore samples (pyrite content in the ore was 80-85%) of the top horizons of the West-Lake mine. Dressing technologies were developed for the ores with various content of the secondary copper (up to 50,0%) and tennantite copper content up to 64%. From copper-zinc ore with secondary copper minerals – 35,0% with copper content - 1,20%, zinc – 1,60% copper concentrate was obtained with copper weight ratio – 19,5%, recovery – 84,0% and zinc concentrate containing zinc 50,0% and zinc recovery – 55,0%.

Copper concentrate, Cu content of 25.00%, yield of 72.51%, Pb content of 1.87%.
Lead concentrate, Pb content of 75.50%, yield of 94.47%, Cu content of 0.13%.
Zinc concentrate, Zn content of 57.00%, yield of 90.64%, SiO2 content of 0.59%.

3. Feasibility identification for the Shiraldzhin deposit's involvement in gold-ore processing with potential multistage construction of a gold processing plant. “Altyn Kumushtak Mining” LLC

Ferromanganese concentrate: Fe content of 52.90%, yield of 74.59%, Mn content of 5.97%.

4. Process studies for preparation characteristics of polymetallic and copper-zinc ores from the secondary Artemyevskoye deposit with development of ore-dressing process regulations for the Norilsk concentrator. “Vostoktsvetmet” LLP
(Kazakhstan)

A dressing technology for polymetallic and copper-zinc ore from the second Artemyevskoye deposit, to be processed at the Nikolayevsky concentrator was developed.
The following were produced from polymetallic ore with contents of copper 1.50%, lead 2.26%, zinc 6.27%, and 1.52g/ton of gold:
- Copper concentrate with copper content of 24.26% at copper yield of 86.53%.
- Lead concentrate with lead content of 48.00% at lead yield of 74.34%.
- Zinc concentrate with zinc content of 52.80% at zinc yield of 85.14%.
The total gold yield into the copper and lead concentrates is 70.64%.
The following were produced from copper-zinc ore containing 1.54% of copper and 2.89% of zinc:
- Copper concentrate with copper content of 20.73%at copper yield of 88.04%.
- Zinc concentrate with zinc content of 52.27% at zinc yield of 85.02%.

5. Engineering support of Norilsk concentrator reconstruction for dressing of ores from the Artemyevskoye and Yubileyno-Snegirikhinskoye deposits on a basis of a new polymetallic and copper-zinc ore dressing technology. “Vostoktsvetmet” LLP

Engineering support of the developed technology for processing of polymetallic ore from the first Artemyevskoye deposit and copper-zinc ore from the Yubileyno-Snegirikhinskoye deposit at the Norilsk concentrator resulted in adjustment and confirmation of standard dressing indicators for these ores. The customer has accepted the work acceptance certificates for engineering support.

6. Research and studies of potential implementation of partial water circulation in Cu-Mo ore processing at the Kajaran concentrator. “Zangezursky MMK” CJSC
(Armenia)

Twenty-percent water circulation is recommended upon the results of performed studies.

7. Commercial tests of the developed technology in the copper-lead flotation cycle at the Novo-Shirokinskaya concentrator with laboratory studies on selection of the produced Cu-Pb concentrate. “Rusdragmet” LLC

The carried out commercial tests in the copper-lead flotation cycle confirmed standard qualitative indicators.
The copper-lead concentrate was produced: the content of lead – 45.34%, copper – 4.09%, and gold – 29.22g/ton with yield of lead – 88.33%, copper – 81.23%, and gold – 54.59%.
The recommended reagent treatment considerably decreases the consumption of highly toxic reagent, sodium cyanide, from 45g/ton to 8g/ton.
Laboratory-based selection of the produced Cu-Pb concentrate according to the recommended treatment resulted in the copper concentrate with the copper content of 29.45% at copper yield of 81.10% of the operation into the copper concentrate (65.88% of the ore containing 0.3% of copper).
Gold yield into the copper concentrate was 70.2% from the operation with the gold content in the concentrate of 258.7g/ton.
Lead concentrate with the lead content of 46.03% at lead yield of 87.36% of the ore.
Gold yield into the lead concentrate was 29.8% of the operation.

8. Development of a circulating-water preparation technology with determining the ion-composition-optimal values to stabilize the process at the Nikolayevsky concentrator. "Vostoktsvetmet” LLP
(Kazakhstan)

A circulating-water preparation technology for the Nikolayevsky concentrator was developed to eliminate negative impact of circulating water used in the current-production ore processing technology. The technology developed will allow recovery of the slurry Redox potential, containment of xanthogenate within its structure, and prevention of xanthogenate-to-dixanthogenate transition.
Circulating-water preparation based on the recommended ion composition will allow stabilization of qualitative dressing indicators for polymetallic ore from the Artemyevskoye deposit and continuous maintenance of their standard levels.

9. Commercial tests of flotation machines TK-20-2 by Tüfekçioğlu, Turkey, and RIF-25 by JV CJSC IVS at the Zhezkazgan concentrator. Kazakhmys Corporation PLC

The obtained commercial test results for flotation machines showed the following:
The sand copper flotation cycle on a RIF-25 flotation machine provided copper yield of 92.16% into the concentrate against 91.72% in the identical flotation cycle on a flotation machine by Tüfekçioğlu, Turkey. Commercial tests will be continued as soon as the required air consumption and inlet air pressure of the RIF-25 flotation machine are ensured.

10. Laboratory tests of an OFK (attrition flotation system) for surface preparation of the rough copper concentrate mineral mass to intensify the leaching process. “Kazgidromed” LLP
(Kazakhstan)

The purpose of the work was to determine if it is possible to use the OFK attrition system by JV CJSC IVS in the flotation technology for the Zhezkazgan 1, 2 concentrator's copper-containing final tailings to reextract copper into the rough copper concentrate, as followed by copper and noble-metals leaching as well as to use the OFK in the leaching technology.
The laboratory studies performed to determine efficiency of the OFK attrition system 's use in the flotation and leaching technology established higher process indicators and a shorter leaching time by 3.5 times when the OFK is used in these operations.

11. Engineering design support for commercial tests of aeration units by JV CJSC IVS in the basic-flotation operation as compared with existing aeration units in the parallel flotation line at the concentrator. “Polyus” CJSC

The results obtained show the following:
- Design characteristics of the RIF-13 aeration system by JV CJSC IVS provide higher yield of fine-grained gold and raw feed to be processed.
- Quantity of the air dispersed to the flotation machine chamber with the RIF-13 aeration system is higher by 201m3/hour than for FPM 100 serial machines.

12. Development of a dressing technology for copper ore from the Ozernoye deposit to produce standard copper concentrates. UMMC-Holding LLC

The following was extracted from the ore with a copper content of 1.37%:
- Copper concentrate 19.48% at yield of 90.81% (laboratory studies).
The following is produced from ore with a copper content of 2.31%:
- Copper concentrate 19.54% at yield of 93.42% (laboratory studies).
At commercial implementation of the developed technology, the following is produced from ore with a copper content of 1.78%:
- Copper concentrate with a copper content of 20.74% and yield of 87.4%.

13. Studies of preparation characteristics of copper-zinc ores from the Yubileynoye deposit for 4-5 ore shoots and development of ore processing at the concentrator of “Bashkirskaya Med” LLC. “Bashkirskaya Med” LLC

The following were produced from ore containing 1.89% of copper, 1.25% of zinc, 1.77g/ton of gold, and 18.44g/ton of silver (laboratory studies):
- Common copper concentrate with copper content of 17.95% at copper yield of 84.91%.
- Zinc concentrate with zinc content of 51.63% at zinc yield of 32.05%.
The following were produced from the ore containing 1.50–2.19% of copper and 1.25-1.28% of zinc (commercial tests):
- Copper concentrate with a copper content of 18.70-19.76% at copper yield of 80.43-83.0% and a zinc content of 2.54-6.0%.
- Rough zinc concentrate with a copper content of 46.60–47.28% at yield of 23.83-50.31%.
- Zinc concentrate with a zinc content of 40.0% at yield of 98.77% of the operation, which is approximately 40.0% of ore.

14. Development of process regulations for processing of BMZ's current and dump slags in an autogenous grinding building of the Balkhash concentrator with technical and economic feasibility assessment for implementation of the technology selected. Kazakhmys Corporation PLC

A processing technology for dump and mature slags from the metallurgical production at “BMZ” OJSC concentrator was developed.
Five studied samples were used to show a copper-yield dependence on the physical composition and identify a dependence on a slag cooling method. Copper yield of 70.0% at quality of 15.5% from slags with a copper content of 0.9% was achieved. An upgrading project was developed for a slag processing section of the Balkhash concentrator at capacity of 1.0 million tons of ore a year.

15. Development of process regulations for comprehensive ore mining at the Abyz and Akbastau deposits to produce copper, zinc, and pyrite concentrates for Karagaily concentrator upgrading. Kazakhmys Corporation PLC

Process regulations were developed for processing of gold-containing copper-zinc ores from the Akbastau deposit (copper and copper-zinc ores) and the Abyz deposit with subsequent Karagaily concentrator reconstruction with total processing of 2.0 million tons of ore a year. A technology was developed to increase copper concentrate quality from 10% to 18% without decrease in copper and gold yield indicators (on the level of 80.0%), which would reduce concentrate transportation expenses. The developed technology will also produce a 45% zinc concentrate from the Abyz deposit ore with a zinc content of 1.2% and yield of less than 55.0% (the zinc concentrate is currently out of production).

16. Development of a dressing technology for oxidized gold ore from the Vostochno-Semenovsky mine. “Semenovsky Rudnik” LLC

According to a diagram developed by JV CJSC IVS, a sample of gold ore with a gold mass fraction of 1.7g/ton, silver – 7.5g/ton, iron – 3.08%, and total sulphur – 0.47% produced the following:
- Gravity concentrates at grinding stage I (40%-0.074mm) with quality of 104g/ton and yield of 18.27% and at grinding stage II with gold quality of 50.29g/ton and yield of 16.48%.
- Gold-containing flotation concentrate of intercycle flotation recleaning with a content of 49.6g/ton and yield of 32.79%.
- Second recleaning concentrate with a gold content of 27.25g/ton and yield of 12.53%.
Quality of the ultimate gravity-flotation concentrate was 49.3g/ton of gold with yield of 80.08%.
The developed regulations show possibilities of a combined gold recovery technology using both gravity and flotation.

17. Test studies of preparation characteristics of mixed copper ores from the Udokan deposit. Baikal Mining Company LLC

Test studies for preparation characteristics of mixed copper ores from the Udokan deposit were carried out by flotation methods in order to optimize reagent treatment and a flotation flow diagram during production of a bulk concentrate with a copper content of 13-14% and yield levels as follows:
- from a sample with an oxidized copper content of 30.0–90.0%;
- from a sample with an oxidized copper content of 45.0–89.0%;
- from a sample with an oxidized copper content of 60.0–87.0%.
